We spent the last week in Halifax for a small vacation. We flew out to the east coast last saturday so that our daughter Saige could compete in a classical singing competition, she was representing BC . Although she got to the semi-finals she unfortunately did not get in the top 3 , she was a little disappointed but she did get a reward of an individual class with one of her favorite Opera singers Isabel Bayrakdarian.
While we were there we had a good time doing the tourist thing and shopping. The weather the first couple of days was not that great in fact it was pouring rain when we arrived, it was a good thing we got picked up at the airport because I would never have found the hotel in all the rain that was coming down. later in the week we got some really great warm weather and enjoyed our walks through the city. They were supposed to have fireworks on July first but it rained too hard so the postponed them till friday night and the were very good. The fireworks were set off a barge in the harbor and we watched from one of the piers with lots of people but a well-behaved crowed. Halifax is a great tourist place with lots to see and do so we had a great
time.we did the tour of the citadel fort
and the waterfront. They have some great old buildings blended in with the new ones making for a pleasant place to stay, our hotel was right downtown so we could walk to everything we wanted to see.
Now we are back home to our regular life and routine, most of our flowers survived and the vegetables are starting to grow thanks to my irrigation system.
